Paraguay-Paraná waterway, with our own broker.

We operate out of Villeta, Falcon and Encarnación ports. Every shipment is handled by our own customs broker, with lot-by-lot traceability and audited ETA. 1 t big bags and bulk capacity.

Operational chain

From origin acopio to vessel.

We operate the full chain: receipt at origin, lot-by-lot quality control, inland transport, in-house customs clearance and vessel loading. Direct coordination, parallel documentation and autonomous incident resolution at every step.

01

Villeta Port

Paraguay River · Central Dept.

Paraguay's main grain hub, 35 km south of Asunción. Handles the largest volumes of soybeans, corn, sorghum, wheat and derivatives in bulk.

The country's main export gateway, where the major agroexporters' terminals concentrate and the largest volumes of soybeans, corn, sorghum, wheat, DDGS, degummed oils and bulk commodities transit en route to transshipment in Argentina or Uruguay.

02

Falcon Terminal

Paraguay River · Asunción

Private metropolitan terminal. Smaller volumes and bagged cargo (sesame, chia) plus 1 t big bags.

Private terminal in the Asunción metropolitan area, an operational alternative to Villeta for cargo that does not require the hub's industrial scale. Suited for smaller-volume shipments, bagged products (sesame, chia, rice, sugar) and cargo needing date flexibility.

03

Encarnación Port

Paraná River · Itapúa

Border with Posadas (Argentina). Direct access to the Paraná waterway towards Argentina and Brazil for the southern region.

The country's southern exit, on the border with Posadas (Argentina) via the San Roque González bridge. Serves the southern productive zone with direct access to the Paraná towards Argentina and Brazil — ideal for cargo originated in southern Paraguay or destined to Argentine and Brazilian buyers.

How we pick the port

Port selection is not an operational default: it comes from crossing five axes we evaluate per contract.

  1. 01

    Origin of the cargo

Producing region closest to the port: north and center of the country towards Villeta or Falcon; south towards Encarnación.

  2. 02

    Final destination

Mercosur markets served by river vs. overseas with transshipment in Buenos Aires or Nueva Palmira.

  3. 03

    Product and packaging

Solid bulk, liquids in flexitank, polypropylene bags or big bags determine the compatible terminal.

  4. 04

    Barge and hold availability

Real loading windows depending on river convoy and ocean-vessel slot.

  5. 05

    Compared costs

River freight, port fees and waiting time measured per shipment, not on nominal tariff alone.

Supply chain

Five stages, one chain.

Every contract runs through these five phases. We run them with an in-house customs broker and parallel documentation, so the buyer can audit every link without waiting for the cargo to arrive.

01

Planning and sourcing

Qualified-supplier identification, terms negotiation and volume planning against the buyer's demand.

02

Quality control at origin

On-plant lab analysis before dispatch. Technical specifications verified against the contract.

03

Customs and documentation

In-house customs broker. Export/import documentation in parallel and full regulatory compliance per destination market.

04

Multimodal transport

National and international delivery coordination across the Paraguay-Paraná waterway and inland routes.

05

Delivery and follow-up

Receipt confirmation, destination quality control and reporting. Lot-by-lot traceability across the full process.

Incoterms operated

We work under the ICC term that best fits the destination and the buyer's logistics plan. Each quote spells out what every term covers.

EXW

Ex Works

The buyer collects the merchandise at the Paraguay facility. Sul Maquila handles no loading, transport or customs. Minimal seller responsibility; suited to buyers with their own logistics on the ground in Paraguay.

FCA

Free Carrier

Sul Maquila delivers the goods to the buyer's designated carrier at the agreed location (facility, warehouse or terminal). Export clearance included. Ideal for buyers arranging independent barge or international trucking.

FOB

Free On Board

Sul Maquila delivers the merchandise aboard vessel or barge at a Paraguayan port (Villeta, Falcon or Encarnación). Covers export clearance, port fees and loading. Maritime/river freight and insurance remain the buyer's responsibility. Standard term for bulk commodities.

CFR

Cost and Freight

Covers FOB services plus marine freight to the agreed destination port. Insurance remains the buyer's obligation. Useful when buyers prefer seller-coordinated shipping but want independent insurance quotes.

CIF

Cost, Insurance and Freight

Sul Maquila covers all CFR services plus cargo insurance during transit to the destination port. Most comprehensive option for port delivery without separate buyer contracting.

DAP

Delivered at Place

Delivers the merchandise at the agreed destination location, ready for unloading. Covers all costs except import duties and destination-country customs procedures.

DDP

Delivered Duty Paid

Maximum seller responsibility, including destination import duties. Available upon inquiry for specific destinations.
